Venturing can include high-adventure activities such as scuba diving, water skiing, rock climbing/rappelling, caving, horseback riding, and more, but can also include many avocation/hobby interests.
Venture Crew members can participate in the national Scout Jamboree.
Venturing should not be just an extension of a Boy Scout resident camp. Venturers need a more teenage oriented experience. Having Venturers involved in this planning process is a must. Important differences in outdoor programs for Venturers include:

Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scoutsof America for young men and women who are 14 years of age OR 13 years of age and have completed the eighth grade and under 21 years of age. Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.
